Introduction

The MetaMiner Client (MMC) is the desktop application you use to browse, analyze, compare, change and protect the content of your SAP BusinessObjects environments.

How it works

The MMC does not connect to BusinessObjects directly. It connects to the MetaMiner Server (MMS), which pulls metadata from each BusinessObjects environment into the MetaMiner Database (MMDB) and performs every change on your behalf.

When you connect, the MMS sends the client a snapshot of each environment you select. The client builds its trees from that snapshot, so browsing and filtering are local and fast. Actions that change BusinessObjects content (rename, paste, remap, restore, and so on) run on the MMS and are checked against your MetaMiner permissions.
