MetaMiner Server Port Settings¶
| Field | Default | What it does | Config key |
|---|---|---|---|
| Server Port: | 49714 |
TCP port the MetaMiner Client (MMC), MMA and web apps use to reach the MetaMiner Server (MMS) | port |
| Validate | - | Checks that the port is free on this machine | - |
| Configure SSL | Off | Opens the server SSL dialog | mms.ssl, mms.ssl.cert, mms.ssl.pk |
Changing the port or SSL needs a server restart, and every MMC must then connect to the new port. Open the port in the Windows firewall. See MetaMiner Server SSL and Ports.
Password Restrictions¶
These rules apply to MetaMiner users when MetaMiner Security is on. See Users and Roles.
| Field | Default | What it does | Config key |

| Enforce Password Complexity | Off | Requires upper case, lower case, digit and special character | enforce.complex.passwords |

| User Inactive threshold: | 90 | Days without logon before the account is treated as inactive | user.inactive.threshold |
Harden password rules
Raise the minimum length and turn on complexity before you create MetaMiner users. See Hardening Checklist.

|---|---|---|
| Enable Connection Banner | Off | Shows an information banner when a user starts MMC and connects to the server |

Custom orphan handling¶
Sets the default for what happens when content promoted with the MetaMiner Client Export to CMS wizard contains objects whose parent does not exist in the target. The wizard can override it per run.
| Value | Effect |
|---|---|
| THROW (default) | The import stops with an error when orphans are found |
| DROP | Orphans are dropped during import |
| NONE | Orphans are imported in an error state and are not committed until they get a parent |
Config key: import.orphan.handling.mode. See Export to CMS and LCM.
Flow Scheduler¶
Enable Flow Scheduler (FSS) turns on the MetaMinerFSS service. It is used only with Tableau; leave it off on BusinessObjects-only installations.
