Apply a License Key

Install a new or renewed MetaMiner license file and make the server use it.

Before you begin

  • The license file from Infolytik (.lic or .l4j). To get one, use Request a key next to the license field in the MetaMiner Administrator, or contact your Infolytik account team.
  • Local administrator rights on the MetaMiner server host.

Steps

  1. Copy the license file into server\licenses\ under the installation folder, for example C:\Program Files\Infolytik\MetaMiner\server\licenses\.
  2. Open the MetaMiner Administrator. If the current license is missing or invalid, the Choose License File dialog opens by itself; continue at step 4.
  3. In the License section, click the folder button next to License File:. The Choose License File dialog opens in server\licenses.
  4. Select the file and click Open. MMA validates the file. The License section shows a green status and the title bar shows the edition (and the days left when fewer than 365 remain).
  5. If the MetaMiner Server is running, restart it with Stop Server and Start Server so it loads the new license.

Verify

  • The MMA title bar shows the expected edition and no "no valid license" text.
  • After the restart, server\logs\slc.log shows MetaMiner Service for Windows® started.
  • Features that came with the new license (for example a new platform or report validation) appear in the client after it reconnects.

Troubleshooting

This license is not valid anymore

The file has expired or is not valid for this product. Choose another file or contact support.

Can not find license file

The configured path no longer exists, for example after the file was moved. Select the file again from server\licenses\.

The server stopped overnight

The server re-checks the license every day shortly after midnight and stops when it is no longer valid. Apply a valid license and start the server.

Not all environments can be enabled

Your license limits the number of enabled environments. Disable an environment or request a license with a higher limit.
