Java Memory Settings¶
| Field | Default | What it does | Config key |
|---|---|---|---|
| Memory allocation for MetaMiner's JVM: | 2 GB or the current maximum, whichever is larger | Maximum memory (GB) of the MMS Java process | jvm.xmx |
| Limit max memory to half of physical memory | On | Caps the allocation field at half of the machine's physical memory | limit.jvm.memory.to.half |
When you click OK, MMA writes the memory value into the command line of the metaminer Windows service. It takes effect at the next server start. Large tenants need more memory; see Memory and JVM and Sizing and Capacity.
Java CPU Settings¶
| Field | Default | Range | What it does | Config key |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maximum Allowed CPUs: | 8 | 1 - number of processors | Limits how many CPUs MetaMiner uses for parallel work | max.allowed.cores |
MetaMiner still works in parallel with fewer CPUs; more CPUs make it more efficient.
Java Temp Folder¶
| Field | Default | What it does | Config key |
|---|---|---|---|
| Path | server\javatemp |
Temporary storage, for example working copies of backup archives during a restore | jvm.temp.dir |
| Validate | - | Checks the path | - |
Free space
Keep 30 GB or more free at the temp folder location. The value is written into the service command line and takes effect at the next server start.
TABCMD executable path¶
Path to Tableau's tabcmd.exe. Used only with Tableau; leave it empty on a Power BI installation.
Directory Services Configuration¶
These fields (Directory Authentication Enabled, Directory Type:, LDAP Server:, LDAP Port:, Authentication Method:, Base DN:, User DN:, Password:, User Search Base:, Test Connection) let MetaMiner users sign in with directory credentials. They are documented in the Security section: Import Users from LDAP or AD.
