The Document Types filter group in the Filter Pane consists of one checkbox list filter. This list consists of document types (kinds) found in any of the connected environments, dynamically combined together:

When you choose one or more document types, it limits the BI data shown in the Content Area to objects of the selected document type only.

Tip
The document type (kind) is displayed as an icon in the Content Area, in a tooltip, and in the Properties dialog window.

 

There is an additional item (All) in the list of document types. Use it to toggle between all document types being selected and all document types being unselected.

If all types are selected, or none of them, then the Document Types filter is not applied, and it does not limit the data displayed.
