MetaMiner Server can operate in one of two modes:
• | Standard |
• | Fast |
In Standard Mode, it identifies changes in your BI landscape every 7 to 15 minutes. This is usually acceptable for most installations and is the default setting for MetaMiner.
In Fast Mode, MetaMiner performs landscape scans every 1 to 3 minutes. Organizations who are constantly using MetaMiner for migration or day-to-day administration tasks may benefit from this mode.
Q: Which one should I choose?
A: Both are perfectly fine. However, we encourage you to start with Standard Mode especially with large (2000+ users, 200k+ reports) installations first so you can observe the deltas more easily and confirm that MetaMiner is installed correctly in your environment.
To run MetaMiner Server in Fast Mode, perform the following steps:
2. | Add the following VMARG system variable to the advanced initial file: |
Dcms.pull.fast=true
(for Fast mode)
Dcms.pull.fast=false
(for Standard mode)
