Server Configurations describe the startup parameters and thresholds that have been indicated for how a server should perform. Examples of these may be the maximum allowed connections for a Web Intelligence Processing server or the log file location if logging server activity.
Example of just some configurations that can be set via the CMC:
Universe Class |
Object Name |
Description / Purpose |
---|---|---|
Configuration Setting Name |
The name of the configuration |
|
Configuration Value |
The value currently set for the configuration |
|
Configuration Value Actual |
The actual value for the configuration |
Tip
The difference between Actual and normal configuration values is this: Actual configuration values are values currently in use by a server before it's restarted. The reason a server may require a restart is if a user changed a server configuration and the configuration doesn't take effect until a restart, thus showing a difference between actual and configured values.
