Properties
Each object (environment, data source, workbook, etc) in your BI landscape has some properties that you can view and sometimes modify in the Properties dialog window.
To view object properties:

In the Content Area, select an object.
Tip
You can choose an object of any type/kind.
Warning
If you selected multiple objects, only properties of the first one will be opened.

Choose Properties... from the context menu, or press Alt + Enter keyboard shortcut.
The Properties dialog window opens:

View the properties of the object. Note that the set of available properties differs and depends on the type of object and other parameters.
General Properties¶
The list of properties differ for different object types.
The most important properties are described in the table below:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Name | A display name of the selected object. |
Type | A type/kind of the selected objects, e. g.: environment, data source, connection, workbook, sheet, etc. |
ID | An identifier of the selected object, which is unique only in this environment. ID algorithm: incremental. There may be some objects with the same ID in other environments. |
LUID | A Locally Unique Identifier of the selected object, see Identifying Resources Using Locally Unique Identifiers (LUIDs) |
Environment | The name of the environment where this object is located. |
Project | The name of the project where this object is located. |
Created On | Date and time when this object was created. |
Updated On | Date and time when this object was last changed. |
Repository URL | A unique internal Tableau link to this object. In some cases it consists of a slightly modified name (not totally obviously, especially in the presence of non-ASCII characters), sometimes it is encoded as in this example. Used in technical URLs meant to access this data source. It is not the URL you see in your browser when opening the object. |
Version | For some objects (environments, data sources), the version of the corresponding software: 2021.1.1 |
Is Outdated | Boolean (True/False). It indicates if this asset belongs to the outdated & unsupported version of Tableau (older than 10.3). Tip: Use the Workbook - Show only outdated filter to see all outdated assets. |
Description | For several object types, a text description is available. |
Show Deep Pull Status¶
This button is available on several asset types, for example, standalone data sources. When pressed, opens the Status dialog box where current status is displayed.

Environments¶
For environments, the list of available properties is different:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Name | Corresponds to the Name field in MMTE Administrator and Tableau. |
Host | Hostname or FQDN of Tableau Server where this environment is hosted. It is specified in MMTE Administrator when your Tableau environment is connected to MetaMiner (Gateway host). |
ID | An identifier of the selected environment. |
Version | Version of Tableau Software, for example: 2021.1.1 |
REST API | Version of Tableau REST API, for example: 3.6 |
Description | Corresponds to the Description field in the Add Environment dialog window in MMTE Administrator. You cannot modify this description in MetaMiner Client. |
